Union Minister Ms. Jayanti Natarajan interacts with the stack holders from the Oil firms in a meeting at Chennai, TamilNadu on 27.04.2013
A meeting was convened at Chennai under the chairpersonship of the Hon’ble Union Minister for Environment & Forests Ms. Jayanthi Natarajan to review the status of pipelines carrying crude pil/petroleum products and the preparedness to control such leakages. The meeting was attended by all stakeholders from Oil Industries viz, IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, CPCL and ONGC, officers from Chennai Port Trust and Tamil Nadu SPCB were also present. The Hon’ble Minister appraised the oil industry on the recent oil pipeline leakages. The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the efforts of Oil sector in raising the economy of the country and stressed upon them for giving due priority to Public health and environmental safety also.

Initiation of Monitoring Activities at Pragati Maidan Monitoring Station
Following the temporary shifting of Air Quality Monitoring Station from ITO (BSZ Marg) to Pragati Maidan ( Near Main Gate of Metro Station) and almost successful commissioning of the new station alongwith required infrastructure at Pragati Maidan, it is informed to all that the ambient air quality monitoring (manual) has started w.e.f September 17, 2012.

Suspension of monitoring activities at ITO Monitoring Station
Due to contsturciotn activites of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, New Delhi at ITO Traffic Intersection, the air quality monitoring at this location is suspended with effect from 28 May, 2012. Thus, the online air quality would not be availbale in our website. The station is being temporarily shifted to Pragati Maidan and it is anticipated that the air quality monitoring activity would resume in a months time.

Presentation on "Online Real-time Data Transmission to CPCB"
CPCB is in the process of developing a Network of Real-time Data from Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Stations (CAAQMS) and Continuous Emission Monitoring Stations (CEMS). The firms M/s Environment SA India Pvt. Ltd., M/s Thermo Fisher Scientific India Pvt. Ltd., M/s Chemotrols Industries Ltd., and M/s Yokogawa Industries Ltd., have been invited to present the system capabilities on October 13, 2011, 3:00pm at Conference Hall, 2nd floor, CPCB Delhi.
